Class of '68 Quarterly E-Newsletter

January 2005

Hello Everyone!

I hope you had a very Merry Christmas and a safe (and sane?) New Year's Celebration. January 1st came just a bit too quickly for me. Now, I don't know about the rest of you, but it seems like time is passing quicker now than it did when I was younger…

Already I'm thinking about our 40th-year Reunion (Yeah, I know it's been a long time - but we're like fine wine: we improve with age!)

I'm starting/continuing the planning process for our next reunion and am looking for interested classmates wanting to work on the Committee. It's because we are spread out over the country and have different lifestyles that we can bring DIFFERENT ideas to the table. A lot of work has to be done over Email and over the telephone. As we noticed from 2003, we had committee members coast-to-coast - and we were able to plan a great reunion for a large number of people! It took 2-1/2 years to pull everything together and lots of man/woman-hours for everything to coalesce. How 'bout it, do YOU want to help?

And that brings me to another point: Debi Williams Oertle and I have been approached by representatives of the Class of '69 and the Class of '70 with a suggestion of joining forces for our next reunions. They propose a Joint Reunion - each class would have their own "Friday Night" get-together, then the Saturday Night "Shindig" would be a combined effort. Other activities planned (golf outings, tours, gab-sessions, etc.) could be combined, also. The Joint Reunion would probably be held in 2009 - a "middle ground" for all. I told the reps I would ask our classmates about this idea, so now I am:

Would YOU like our next Reunion to be combined with the classes of '69 and '70?

Contact me (ladybakerohmy@hotmail.com or LindaHeinFaust@whs1968.com) with your YEA or NAY 'vote.' I would like to get a discussion going amongst our classmates about this. The planning and committee work needs to be done whichever decision is made. Let me know your thoughts - your ideas - your comments.
